Things to do. Done!

I’ve upgraded the ‘Almost all Posts’ page with a system which lists every post I’ve scribbled chronological order. Delve away. I just hope my server does not protest.

And, there is now a thingy which allows you to be notified when and if anyone, like me, replies to one of your comments. Just tick the little box next to the ‘Notify me of followup comments via e-mail’ and you will receive an email when someone posts a reply. This may encourage more people to engage me in some more ‘comment’ discussions! But only if they feel like it. I use this system often when I see it on other blogs, and it can be helpful when you are looking for an answer to something.

I n some ways, I think blogs are better then books. I mean, if you want to, you can interact with the ‘author’ and all the others who leave comments. Fun! And I get to ‘meet’ some very interesting people too!

Feedback on the new additions is, as ever, appreciated. Thanks.

I like blogs for these reasons also. So much first hand info, how can one resist. You “meet” some nice people and there is a sense of community as well.
Are you having pancakes today for shrove Tuesday? The bloke taught me to put fresh lemon juice and sugar on them. Of course, your pancakes are our crepes.

    Hi Maryann,

It’s true about the info aspect - you often find out about things that are interesting but that do not generally attract the mainstream press or other media.

And there is quite a sense of community too, which is very nice.

Nope, no pancakes - have not made them at home for years. ‘Crepes’ as they are known here in Italy are not all that popular, although there is one ‘Creperie’ near us, which we go to sometimes.

I’m not sure what the traditional Italian Shrove Tuesday dish is, and to tell the truth, I don’t even know if Shrove Tuesday is celebrated here.

I do like pancakes though, so, as a result of your comment, I might have a go at making some!

    Thanks for the idea,

    Alex

There is a Shrove Tuesday in most of Italy. In Milan, since we have the Ambrosian Catholic Rite insted of the Roman Catholic Rite, we have a “shrove saturday”, four days after the Tuesday in the whole contry.
There are few traditional cakes for the Carnival, the most famous is the frappola or chiacchera, a kind of crumpet covered with sugar.

Have your say
