Presentation of Gianpietro Carlesso’s work with Music by Moby
OK, here is the new YouTube video presentation, complete with accompanying music by Moby!
I think the soundtrack works quite well, and I hope Gianpietro, Moby, and you, my kind readers agree; says he, a little nervously. See what you think:
Big thanks to Moby -
PS Moby’s new website is well worth checking out. You listen to his music and watch the videos. Really good stuff.
Moby Soundtrack for Gianpietro Carlesso YouTube Presentation
Mobygratis, Moby’s free music service dropped me an email today in response to my request to use a Moby track to accompany my short You Tube presentation of Gianpietro Carlesso’s sculptures.
I am very pleased to announce that Moby has kindly given his permission for me to use the track I selected. I’m really excited about this news.
Now I just have to wait until the track downloads, which is taking an age because of a slow connection, and I can only download the track once. And I’ll have to leave my PC running, because I have to go out shortly.
If all goes well, and I have the time, I shall add the soundtrack to the presentation this evening.
Thanks Moby!

The 13th edition of Milan’s International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair kicks off shortly, as you will see if you click on the link. I’ll be at the invitation-only inauguration which is on Thursday 4th April, camera in hand. The event is to be held at the Milan Fiera’s Milan location, which can be reached via Milan’s red metro line. You just get off at the Amendola Fiera station.
I’m going to have a general mosy around and with the intention of carrying out a little research into the contemporary art market, so that I can help Giancarlo Carlesso out more efficiently.
A post about what is at Milan’s International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair will follow soon after. Yet another opportunity to paly at being a journalist, or better ‘bloggist’ once again, which I don’t mind in the least!
If you think that you might like to catch my post, you can either subscribe to my rss feed or the new email subscription system I’ve just installed.
I met Italian Scupltor Gianpietro Carlesso!
Yes, finally, I got to meet Gianpietro Carlesso and some of his friends including Max, and the guy who is helping Gianpietro promote is eminently promotable work, Carlo.
It was the first time I’d ever met a real life sculptor, but the experience was painless, I’m pleased to report. Gianpietro is a very interesting person, and a thoroughly decent chap to boot.
I chatted with him about his work and how he comes up with his ideas, which was fascinating. He is very well read and absorbs topics as diverse as particle physics, I think it was (the wine got to my head). And he finds energy intriguing, and this is something he attempts to represent in his work.
Gianpietro gave me a whole bundle of past catalogues, from which I noted just how much his work has evolved over time. Suffice it to say that the variety of pieces he produces is extensive. It’s no wonder that he has quite a number of fans. The more I see what he is capable of, the more I like his work.
I have to say that I am extremely happy to have met, face to face, the man behind the creativity, I can tell you.
More about the intriguing Mr Carlesso will be coming soon, I assure you. And a major international magazine is about to release an article about the man and his work. I’d love to tell you which publication, but it would not be good natured of me.
Here is an example of his more recent work ‘Struttura’:
I know I’ve shown this before, but, well, I wanted to show it off again!
