Swine Flu in Italy – Update 3

This is just a quick update based on an Italian Health Ministry press release issued today.  There have been 26 confirmed cases of swine flu in Italy to date, but no deaths.

Below is a list of the regions in Italy in which cases have been confirmed.

Confirmed Cases of Swine Flu in Italy

  • May 2, 2009: 1 case in Tuscany
  • May 3, 2009: 2 cases in Lazio
  • May 4, 2009: 1 case in Lazio
  • May 5, 2009: 1 case in Tuscany
  • May 8, 2009: 2 cases in Lombardy
  • May 8, 2009: 1 case in Lazio
  • May 9, 2009: 1 case in Lazio
  • May 20, 2009: 1 case in Friuli Venezia Giulia
  • May 21, 2009: 4 cases in Lazio
  • May 22, 2009: 4 cases in Lazio
  • May 23, 2009: 1 cases in Lombardy
  • May 25, 2009: 2 cases in Lazio
  • May 25, 2009: 2 cases in Campania
  • May 27, 2009: 3 cases in Lazio

As stated above, no deaths have been caused by swine flu in Italy so far.

The Italy Swine flu helpline is still operating.  Call 1500 from within Italy for information.

Francesco Cossiga Understood Italy

For those who did not know, Francesco Cossiga, who died the other day, was an Italian politician and one time President of Italy.
