In Milan, drivers swerve around you while you cross the road, and pedestrians swerve around the doggy doo which is all over the footpaths.
A friend of mine, who spent summer back in his home town of Dublin, commented that it was wonderful to be able to walk along the pavements there without having to worry about dog poo all over the place. As soon as he was back in Milan, he had to adopt ‘the swerve’ once more to avoid ending up with nasty brown smelly stuff all over his boots.
Yes, Milan truly is swerve city Italy, and it is pretty sh*tty.
The poo problem is a pet hate of mine, if you’ll excuse the pun….
