Interesting Gorgonzola
UPDATE 2
I have spoken to Lorenzo of La Via lattea, the award winning slow food company behind this this delightful cheese, and a whole host of other interesting cheese products as well, as I have discovered. Full contact details have now been added to my original The Gorgonzola of the Gods post, and they do speak English too. The company can export pretty well anywhere, if requested. However remember that La Via lattea’s products are natural, and will suffer if travel times are excessive.
Go on, phone them and make an order, your taste buds deserve it, and goats cheese is healthier than cows milk cheese too, if you need an excuse.
The company has agreed to send me some photos of their products, and I shall write a Friday food post about this interesting company soon.
Thanks for reading! And, hopefully, tasting – this Lo Sciur (Sciur – pronounced like ’sure’ – means Sir in Bergamo dialect) really was one of the best cheeses I had ever tasted, and it looks very presentable too. – Alex Roe – cheese hunter.
UPDATE
A while back I wrote a post about a lovely cheese I had tried, and thanks to good old StumbleUpon and a stumbler, this post about some particularly delicious cheese seems to be getting lots of views.
Just in case someone may want to try and order some of the exquisite Gorgonzola made by the company mentioned in the post, I’ve added some more contact details, including a phone/fax number to my original post.
I’ve tried contacting the company concerned, but they appear to be at lunch. Later on I’ll give them another ring, and try to establish if anyone there speaks English, in which case, if I obtain permission, I’ll add the contact name to the post.
If you still have problems getting in touch, please let me know, and I’ll see what I can do. At a pinch, I could take orders for them – I’ll mention this when I manage to speak to the company, and see how they react.

I now know of a few outlets in Milan, and will publish them shortly. As for outlets in Umbria, I don’t know – yet.
