Guess Where in Italy? Part 6
This week’s Guess Where in Italy? photo-quiz features a photograph of a famous Italian café stroke confectioners. I’m not going to say in which city it can be found, unless nobody guesses.
Aside from having a fascinating history, incredible buildings, fabulous food and wine, and lively people, Italy has some fascinating coffee houses. Not really a surprise when you understand that coffee is the national drink in Italy. What is surprising though, is that in some of Italy’s elegant cafés, the future of Italy has been decided.
Oh, and, sorry, but no Italians are allowed to try to guess today (Wednesday)! I think guessing where this café is, and what it is called, will be too easy for some Italians!
On to the picture.
Where is this Impressive Looking Café in Italy?
See if you can give the name the city and the café.
You have until Saturday to post your guesses in a comment below. If nobody manages to come up with the right answer, I’ll post a clue this Friday.
REMEMBER: No Italians can participate today!
There is no prize for getting the answer right, as this is just for fun, and for you to show the world how well you know Italy.
Go for it!
The answer can be found in the comments below.
PS I apologise for not having produced a Guess Where in Italy? post last week, I was tied up with something else.

Hi Alex , It’s always interesting to read your blog.I ‘m giving a little help to your readers with this message
I remember I asked for my first kiss to a girl on those stairs long time ago( I’m talking of 1976 – sigh !!)
I noted you often refer to my region and my Town. If you don’ know it yet, I strongly suggest this blog about Torino. (where this cafe’ is located) Its pictures are really amazing.ciao

Thanks to Riccardo’s helpful clue, I now know that this is the elegant Caffè Torino in Piazza San Carlo, Torino. The interior is gorgeous! Wish I had known about it when I was visiting the Egyptian Museum earlier this year; it is just around the corner. Next time…
Congratulations once again, Nora. You guessed right!
Even though Riccardo did give you a helpful clue, I was not sure anyone would have got this, other than Italians, like Riccardo, who know Turin.
Well done! I’ll write a little more on this café shortly.
Turin does look mighty interesting too!
Best,
Alex
Hi Alex,
Just been browsing t’internet and found your blog. You have written exactly what we think about Italy. We love it here but there is a dark side. We live in Basilicata, have a holiday home, check out the web site and have been made to feel very welcome by everyone. The food is delicious, the people friendly, the spring, summer and autumn weather is very pleasant. The tv is rubbish, as you say the post is snail mail if at all and it takes tantrums to get anything done! Our guests also love it here when they come over. The peace and quiet of the country side and all the above. As for the schooling, my son went to Italian school to learn the language and make friends, then did the English curriculum on internet school. He is just about to take his GCSE exams. Best wishes, look forward to reading your blogs in future. Pauline
