Getting older
1 viewsIt’s finally happened. I’m starting to become aware of my age. Young people now look, well, young, whereas before I felt I was one of them, now I no longer have this feeling. I suppose I have simply become conscious of my years.
I think having a child has also contributed to my new awareness in that the little one has literally brought me face to face with raw youth, which is something which can only happen when you have children. You subconsciously compare yourself to the child and you realise just how great the gap is. And you conclude that the main reason is your age, then you start looking around and start to understand that you ain’t young any more. It’s an odd realisation and a bit disconcerting too. Still, not much gets in the way of Old Man Time.
Where did I put those fur lined slippers? I’ll look for them after I’ve made myself a nice cup of cocoa.
