Italians are Doing it For Themselves
Some of those who read this blog might at times feel as though I portray Italy as being a barrel of apples which are in differing states of decay.
To counter this impression a little, here is something positive about one of Italy’s local authorities, and an industry sector which is, or should be, a shining star in Italy, and the world.

Milan 2015
Today I’m going to do a little future gazing, and imagine how Italy will be in 2015, the year of the Expo.
Well, first of all let’s imagine that in 2011 Silvio Berlusconi sadly passes away, having refused advice from his, American, doctors and gone ahead with plugging his head onto the body of a recently departed male model in the world’s first full body transplant.
At first Berlusconi felt like a spring chicken. Dressing in Versace, he passed many nights out and about in the bars and clubs of his beloved home city, Milan. However, alas, Berlusco’s new body rejected the head resulting in Berlusco passing from this world to the next. Read more
Gastronomic Fair - Milan 2008
Today was our annual appointment with the delightful Paolo Sarpi street fair. As always there was an abundance of choice for Italian food lovers.
This year we lunched on goose filled pasta, followed by fresh porcini mushrooms and all washed down with some rather nice Barbera d’Asti red. Oh, I and I spent some time trying to capture the event with my trusty digital SLR. One of my readers kindly left some feedback the other day saying that more pictures were needed on Blog from Italy.
