Cookery Classes at Bella Baita

Upon request, and in collaboration with the TEM association (Sustainable Mountain Tourism Association), Bella Baita offer culinary seminars, arrange tastings and culinary excursions for guests or for groups.

All Bella Baita classes embrace the Italian philosophy of using fresh, seasonal ingredients to produce appetizing results through simplicity.

Courses sometimes feature less well-known regional specialties, and use them to achieve a balance between traditional and modern dishes.  Discover interesting traditional Piedmont cuisine that you will not find easily in in the average restaurant.

All Bella Baita classes are a practical hands on experience and last around 3 hours.

Bella Baita Italian cookery courses are for groups of up to 4 people, but larger groups may be accommodated upon arrangement.

Full details of Bella Baita cookery classes can be found over at Bella Baita B&B’s comprehensive website.

Francesco Cossiga Understood Italy

18 Aug 2010

For those who did not know, Francesco Cossiga, who died the other day, was an Italian politician and one time President of Italy. Cossiga hailed from Sardinia, was a fan of John Le Carre and had earned himself the nickname “the pickaxe” owing to his no holds barred criticism of other Italian politicians.

Berlusconi v Fini – Slinging Old Mud

12 Aug 2010

As you may be aware, the generally tumultus world of Italian politics is in turmoil. The Berlusconi government is teetering on the brink of collapse, but what is really surprising, is that this collapse was sparked from the inside.

Berlusconi Divorces Fini

Kotipizza Berlusconi

From spat to full-blown split. Silvio Berlusconi’s marriage of political convenience to Gianfranco Fini has ended in tears. Scorned lover Berlusconi even rejected Fini’s last minute attempts to kiss and make up and remain part of Berlusconi’s party of love. End of love in. Period.

Discover Tuscan Bliss near Beautiful Anghiari

I did not want to tell you about this particular bed and breakfast. Why? Because I am envious of the people who run it. Envious of the fact that they live a stone’s throw away from the medieval village of Anghiari in Tuscany, which can lay claim to being one of the most beautiful villages in all Italy.

A Must for Wine Lovers Poggio Etrusco, Tuscany

Retreat to the Genius Loci Country Inn, Umbria, Italy

Genius Loci Inn is not strictly a bed and breakfast, but it operates using a b&b plan. Coupled with its stunning internal presentation, this is reason enough for this place to be featured as an expat Bed and Breakfast. And it is run, in part, by Mary an American expat from Long Beach, California who, whilst studying for her History of Art degree in Italy, met and subsequently married Maurizio, a University of Rome graduate with a background in business and construction.

Hunting Expat Bed and Breakfasts

There are now twelve posts about expat run bed and breakfasts on Blog from Italy. I’m hoping to add more in 2009, but finding these bed and breakfasts on line is not all that easy and the Italian Tourist Board does not seem to be helping matters either.

Villa Tre Angeli, Parma, Emilia Romagna

The Villa Tre Angeli bed and breakfast, aside from being stunning in its own right, is very well situated for those who might like the experience the delights of the Apennines, and who would probably love the charming and beautiful ‘Cinque Terre’, a series of five seaside villages which sit upon the southern Ligurian coastline.
