Bardonecchia
We’re off the Italian alpine resort of Bardonecchia shortly! I’m looking forward to this weekend in the mountains, and after seeing this brief You Tube video presentation of the area, I’m even more keen on being there!
I know it is a little dated, but it’s the video used to send up the place before the 2006 Turin winter Olympics. It’s only 30 seconds or so long. Have a look and see what you think:
Funnily enough it is not that easy to hunt down videos which show off many of Italy’s jewels that well. There should be more, and in several different languages in my not at all humble opinion.
You Tube is a potentially excellent way for local Italian tourist boards to show what they have to offer to holiday makers. However so far the medium has not been that well used in Italy.
Would not be such a bad idea for local councils in Italy to hold a competition for Italy’s young film makers. The contest could challenge them to make the best promo video of their local area.
One day Italy will wake up to the joys of new technology and not do its level best to stifle them, as it seems to be doing by trying to ban bloggers, even if Italy’s anti-blogger law seems to have been put on hold for the moment, again. Still, that is another story!
Bardonecchia – here I come!
