Note for your diary - 6th December - Design Museum Opens in Milan

October 2, 2007 · Filed Under Milan · 1 Comment

Apparently, on the 6th of December a new museum of Italian Design will open in Milan.  The only trouble is that I cannot find the address! I’m not sure whether the new design museum will be located near Parco Sempione close to the city centre, or out in the Bovisa area of Milan.

When I do manage to pin down the exact location, I will post it here.

Why bother visiting an Italian design museum?  Easy.  Italian design is about as innovative as design gets.  And Milan is filled with shops showing off what Italian designers can do.  There are spectacular kitchens, brilliant bathrooms and intriguing bathroom fittings, and then there is the fabulous furniture.  Not to mention all the ornaments, lights, kitchenware and a host of other stuff.

I shall be writing about various examples in future posts.

More server problems

October 2, 2007 · Filed Under This blog · Comment

Sorry if you found that this blog was taking an age to load today.  Beyond my control, alas.  The new host has been having server management problems.  I’m not a happy bunny.

Just as well I’m paying on a monthly basis, and I’m already looking around for other potential hosting services.  If this keeps up it will be a case of hello Media Temple, bye bye Media Temple.  I thought that by paying double the average monthly hosting fee, I would get a more resilient service.  Looks as though I’m wrong.

Assistance in finding EFL teachers.

October 2, 2007 · Filed Under Language teaching · Comment

I’m planning to use this blog to help English language teachers find, well, other English language teachers in Italy.

If you are an independent language teacher, like me, then you may well have come across the situation in which you have had to turn down work because you simply don’t have the resources to handle it. By resources, I generally mean teachers. As everyone in this game knows, one of the biggest problems is finding good teachers, and good teachers often do not know where to look. Not any more, or that is my hope.

So, if you have a big job coming up, want to expand or simply want to develop a few contacts in your area of Italy, send me some details, and I’ll post them here. I’ll post fuller information on this matter either later today, or tomorrow.
