Anita Roddick

After the sad demise of Luciano Pavarotti, I heard about the equally sad departure from this earth of the Body Shop founder Anita Roddick yesterday. A champion of ethical business practices and one of the UK’s best known and most successful business women. She also did loads for charity. An all-round good-egg. She is a great loss.
And she had an Italian connection, her parents were Jewish Italian immigrants.
Goodbye Anita and thanks for all the soap, and for not hurting animals while you made it.
