Don’t go to the post office today
Don't even think about going to the post office today. Our local post office is under attack. There is a queue of currently not-so-legal immigrants waiting to hand in, I think, their 'regularisation kits' so they can become legal residents in Italy.
There are so many hopefuls that they have even stationed a number of policemen outside the post office and I suspect the scene is similar throughout Milan, if not Italy, with the possible exception of a few isolated post offices in some out of the way mountain hamlets.
